Back to my most photographed castle! You can find a small history of the place in this previous post.
We are here in the armoury, which, besides a small collections of pikes, halberds, crossbows, muskets, armours and other niceties, shows also a pretty wooden ceiling. It is of course a 19th century reconstruction, but it imitates rather well some known 16th century ceiling found in houses in the area. The ceiling light is however a bit more romantic touch, since such a big light wouldn’t have been practically or economically sound in a tiny room like this before the advent of electricity.
